Anche questo anno ha trionfato ai César una coproduzione e non un vero film francese. Les invasions barbares ha conquistato tre dei quattro premi a cui era candidato, ma soprattutto i tre premi più importanti (film, regia e sceneggiatura). I film plurinominati (Bon voyage e Pas sour la bouche) ricevono pochi premi (3 il primo, due il secondo) in categorie tecniche ad esclusione del César a Gregori Dérangère come Miglior giovane speranza maschile per Bon voyage. Infine nulla da fare per La meglio gioventù, a cui è stato preferito quel Good bye Lenin! che ancora non sono riuscito a vedere. (Lista completa anche qui)
